Sgt. Jack A. Henshaw, USMC
Vietnam Vet, 1967-1969
"TunnelRat Jack"
| Who I am and who I was is only important in the sense that I wish
to establish my legitimacy to give accurate and useful information to other
veterans. Veterans of any war deserve to be treated with respect and
a certain dignity. The information that I provide on this web site
is intended for the benefit of all of my brothers and sisters, so that they
may find the facts they may need to help themselves or fellow veterans. Because
of my problems with PTSD I fight every day of my life to have "normal" hours.
Hours in which I can do what I must for myself and my brothers and
sisters.
It is also intended to provide facts and encourage action in order to obtain a full accounting of all of our POW/MIAs from Vietnam and from all actions. It has become critical to find a way to force our Government to act. This can only be done if we come together and force their action! I joined the Marine Corps in 1960. I served a short time in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. I served in 5 major campaigns in Vietnam, including TET. I left the Marine Corps due to injury in 1970. At one time I worked for the Veterans Administration as an Administrative Officer of the Day, until I could no longer tolerate the inequities of their policy, and the way in which I was forced to treat case management for other veterans. Also, my problems with PTSD eventually rendered me 100% disabled, and I now try to spend some time each day in service to my brother veterans in whatever way I can manage. |
Don't even ask how I got involved in the Tunnel Rat program!
It was, to say the least, an experience!
Please browse through this site. I hope you will find interesting
facts,
and I also hope it will inspire you to act on behalf of yourselves,
your veteran brothers and sisters, and our missing warriors.
